Governor's Declaration
On January 23, 2026, Governor Josh Shapiro signed a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency to prepare for the weekend winter storm. This allows the Commonwealth to quickly draw down funding and provide state agencies with resources needed to assist counties and municipalities with response efforts.

Northampton County Impact
The National Weather Service (NWS) Mount Holly office predicted 12 to 18 inches of snow for Carbon, Monroe, Lehigh, and Northampton counties, with potential light ice glazing. Actual totals in the Lehigh Valley reached 10-14 inches.

The Lehigh County Coroner reported 3 snow removal-related deaths in Lehigh County following Sunday's storm. Please use extreme caution when shoveling and take frequent breaks.
